Communion

Preaching and the Sacrament of Communion are the central parts of our worship and are a part of every Lord of Life service. We believe they are gifts from God to sustain our faith.

We invite all baptized Christians to share the Lord's Supper with us.   We believe that Jesus truly comes to us through the bread and the wine.  We believe it is his supper in which he meets us and shares himself with us.  We also believe we share our fellowship with each in the meal.

At the 8:10am we offer both wine and grape juice in individual glasses.

At the 9:10am service communion is given by intinction; that is, a person receives a piece of bread and then dips it into the cup of wine or grape juice and then eats it.

At the 10:30am service we offer both the common cup and individual glasses. The individual glasses give the choice of wine or grape juice.

If you are visiting you are invited to come to communion.  If you have any questions, the pastor is happy to visit with you. We also encourage children, regardless of age, to join in receiving communion.

Nursery

There is a nursery for infants and small children

(through age 3) during the services and our education

time.  Member households, including children, assist in

worship by reading the lessons and helping with

communion.

Music and Musicians -- In addition to the music

provided by our fantastic organist/pianist, we

use a contemporary band at the 9:10 service and have

special music almost every week from our choir and

other musicians at our 10:30 service.  If you enjoy singing, our choir

practices on Thursdays at 7:30pm. Everyone is

welcome.

Children's Church - In order to help and encourage

parents with small children (through age 3) we have

nursery services at all Sunday education times and

during worship.

During the summer months when Sunday School is not

in session, at the 9:30am liturgical worship, parents

have the option of sending their children from ages 3

through 5 or 6 to receive a short Christian learning

children's activity from the time of the 1st lesson

reading through the sermon allowing parents more

freedom to focus on the readings and the sermon.

:Of course we value children in worship and many

parents also choose to keep their children with them

for the whole service.
