Why are we going to Tanzania?

There are many reasons why people sign up for cross cultural mission trips.  Some people sign up because they like to travel and meet new people, others hope to change lives, others want to somehow reduce the affects of poverty, some are called by God to service and others have heard about the great experiences of mission trips from past participants. Christ calls us to love one another and I believe that these trips are an opportunity for that love to be formed and nurtured. 

Americans are doers – so what will we do on this mission trip?

Meet/listen

We will meet our brothers and sisters in Christ.  Together we will worship, share meals and talk about hopes and dreams for our futures. We will learn to listen. In our interactions, both sides will grow in faith and will be able to pray for one another, coming to know one another in at least a small way.

Share/Encourage

From our great abundance in the United States we will share gifts (text books, medicines, midwife kits) to encourage the work of the people in Tanzania - not trying to provide easy answers but helping with the solutions that they have formed.

Become advocates

On our return home we can become the voices for those whose voice is often cast aside.  We can relate the stories we have learned to our friends, neighbors and even legislators in order that true change and justice might someday lead to a lessening of poverty in the world.

How can I participate in the trip if I can't travel with the team?
